How it runs

From enquiry to completion

Enquiry. Send the requirement with location, timing and site details.
Scope. We confirm what is involved, who is required and what it will cost.
Written confirmation. Scope, rate, timing and safety notes agreed before anything starts.
Execution. Execution is carried out by an appropriate independent specialist provider, with PRESTA coordinating the scope and completion record.
Record. Job card, photographs where relevant and completion confirmation.

What this covers in practice

Loading and unloading

Manpower for vehicle turnaround, with or without equipment. Charged by the team and the hours, not by the tonne.

Stock movement

Between floors, between stores, or into position on a site. Includes the awkward items nobody wants to lift.

Racking and layout

Assembling, relocating and reconfiguring racking, shelving and bins.

Stock counts

Manpower for physical counts, including out of hours where a count cannot happen during trading.

Clearance

Removing obsolete stock, packaging and waste after a move or a fit-out.

Equipment

Pallet trucks, stackers, trolleys and lifting tackle arranged where the site does not have them.

What decides the cost

Access and distance carried. A pallet moved five metres and a pallet carried up two floors are different jobs at the same weight.

Whether equipment is available on site. Hand-balling a load that a pallet truck could move costs several times more in labour.

Timing. Out of hours, weekends and overnight work carry a premium, and that is often still cheaper than closing during trading.

How long the vehicle waits. Demurrage is real money, and a team ready before the vehicle arrives usually pays for itself.

Tell us the weight, the distance and the floor. Those three facts price the job. Tonnage alone does not, because the same tonnage takes an hour on a level dock and half a day up a staircase.
