Field Service Coordination

Repair coordination, installation support, technician scheduling, site inspection and job-card reporting.

What this covers

Field Services

A technician on site is only half the job. The other half is the record of what was done.

Included

  • Repair coordination
  • Installation support
  • Technician coordination
  • Site inspection coordination

Also included

  • Before and after photo reporting
  • Job card management
  • Customer completion confirmation

How it runs

From enquiry to completion

  1. Enquiry. Send the requirement with location, timing and site details.
  2. Scope. We confirm what is involved, who is required and what it will cost.
  3. Written confirmation. Scope, rate, timing and safety notes agreed before anything starts.
  4. Execution. Execution is carried out by an appropriate independent specialist provider, with PRESTA coordinating the scope and completion record.
  5. Record. Job card, photographs where relevant and completion confirmation.

What to know before you book

Availability: PRESTA support is subject to service area, partner availability, vehicle availability, site condition, safety and written scope confirmation.

How a field visit is charged

What the quotation depends on: the trade required, the access and working hours on site, the number of visits, and the parts or materials needed. Each is confirmed at the survey and set out in the written proposal.

Each proposal states which of the following are included for your property:

  • Standard visit
  • Labour beyond the first 30 minutes
  • Second technician
  • Materials
An estimate visit is chargeable where the work does not proceed. Attending, diagnosing and reporting is the work. Where the job goes ahead, it is credited.

Diagnosis before replacement

Most field calls are not what the caller thinks they are, and going straight to replacement is how money gets wasted.

We report what it is before quoting what it costs. That sometimes means a visit charge and no further work — which is a better outcome than a replacement that did not need doing.

What to send with a call-out

What is happening

The symptom, not the diagnosis. When it started, whether it is constant or intermittent.

Photographs

The most useful thing you can send. The fault, the surrounding area, and any rating plate or model number.

Access and timing

Who lets us in, when, and whether power or water needs isolating.

History

Whether it has been looked at before and what was done. Saves repeating a diagnosis that already failed.

Urgency

Whether it is stopping use of the property or can wait for a scheduled visit. Priority costs more.

Who pays

Owner, tenant, society or managing agent — agreed before the visit rather than after the invoice.
