CONTRACTOR COORDINATION

Contractor coordination and private works

The right trade for the actual problem, with the scope written down once so quotations compare like with like.

Coordination, not supply

This is not contractor supply. The distinction matters and it is not wording for its own sake.

Manpower supply

PRESTA engages the people and supplies them to you under our scope and rate. We carry verification, attendance and replacement.

Contractor coordination

An approved contractor is introduced and the work is coordinated. The contract for the work is between you and them. We schedule, follow up and record.

Coordination suits work that needs a licensed or specialist contractor — lift work, certified electrical, fabrication, structural repair, borewell, specialist waterproofing. Supplying manpower for that work would be the wrong answer, and saying so is more useful than taking the job.

What coordination includes

Matching the job

The right trade for the actual problem, from contractors we have used and can comment on.

Scope and comparison

The requirement written down once, so quotations compare like with like instead of three different jobs.

Scheduling and access

Dates, site access, sequencing against other trades, and the phone calls that make it happen.

Material coordination

Where material is supplied separately, sourcing and delivery timed to the work rather than to the invoice.

Job card and record

What was done, when, by whom, with photographs where they matter. A record that survives a committee change.

Follow-up

Snags chased, return visits arranged, completion confirmed. The part that usually stops happening once the invoice is paid.

Where responsibility sits

Be clear about this before work starts, not after something goes wrong.

  • The contractor is responsible for their work — quality, warranty, licensing, insurance and their own people.
  • PRESTA is responsible for the coordination — the introduction, the scope, the scheduling and the record.
  • A referral is not a guarantee. Contractors we have used well can still have a bad job. We will say so, we will chase it, and we will not pretend it did not happen.
  • Where you want PRESTA to carry the work, that is a different arrangement — a quoted job under our scope, not a coordinated referral. Ask for it that way.
On commission. Where a coordination fee or commission applies, it is stated before the work is agreed. A referral with an undisclosed margin is not a referral, it is a markup.

For contractors — joining the network

The network exists because property managers and societies keep asking the same question: who do you use for this?

What we record

Trade, capability, area covered, licences held, insurance, references and typical availability.

What we check

Licensing where the trade requires it, and previous work. Registration does not skip this.

What you get

Enquiries matched to your trade and area, with the scope written down before you visit.

What we expect

Turning up when agreed, quoting what was asked, and telling us when a job goes wrong before the customer does.

What we do not do

Guarantee volume, guarantee allocation, or take a fee to be listed.

How it ends

Repeated no-shows, poor work or unquoted extras and the referrals stop. No process, no appeal.
